Housing
Housing for those participating in the 2012 General Chapter will be located on the campus of St. Norbert College. All rooms have the option of air-conditioning. Each bedroom is private and in some cases a bathroom may be shared. Each room includes linens. Most rooms are located about 3 city blocks from the location of the Chapter meetings and meals. Participants are asked to be prepared for some moderate walking each day. For those who have difficulty with walking, a few rooms closer to Chapter events have been reserved.
The Associates of St. Norbert Abbey will provide each member with a hospitality gift bag with a variety of items. Laundry facilities (washers & dryers) are located in close proximity. For those staying in a standard room, the cost for the 2012 General Chapter is $1,100. The Associates attending the first week of the General Chapter will be charged $600 for room & board.
A limited number of deluxe rooms have been reserved at the Kress Inn. The Kress Inn is the campus hotel and is located across the street from the Bemis International Center where the Chapter will gather for meetings and meals. A room at the Kress includes limited maid service, a television and other amenities. For those staying at the Kress Inn, the cost for the 2012 General Chapter is $1,450.
All rooms become available at noon on Saturday, July 21, 2012. Participants need to vacate their rooms by noon on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Please indicate your room preference on your reservation form.
2012 General Chapter participants are welcome to arrive early and stay late. Rooms will be provided at St. Norbert Abbey. There will be no charge for these rooms. Transportation from the airport will be provided by the Associates of St. Norbert Abbey. For those arriving early, transportation to the College on July 21 will be provided.
All participants need to check in at the lobby of the Rev. Eugene Gries, O. Praem. Hall when arriving at St. Norbert College. Information, room keys, campus maps and other items will be provided at this location. Participants will also need to check out and drop off room keys before they leave. Mailboxes for each participant will be located in the Bemis lobby outside of the meeting hall (aula).
The Bemis International Center is the location for meetings, meals and information. In the case of medical needs, contact the information desk in the Bemis lobby (403-3517).
There is a college bookstore on the college campus. Items such as clothing, souvenirs, writing materials, books, postcards, greeting cards, etc. are available for sale. Eating snacks and drinks are also available for sale on campus.
There will be a number of computers made available to General Chapter participants. Information will be provided when you arrive on campus.
VISITS TO USA NORBERTINE HOUSES
Norbertines and Associates are invited to visit other Norbertine Houses while visiting the United States. Other Norbertine Houses vary in size and may have limited room availability.
