Our brother John Raszlaviczy (RASS-la-vee-zee) was born in Hungary. He joined St. Stephen’s Abbey in Hungary in 1924 and was solemnly professed in 1929.
John immigrated to the United States after World War II and worked with the confreres in the East, assisting in Hungarian parishes throughout the country.
During celebrations at Bishop Neumann, with cars honking and kids yelling, John could be found in the basement covering his ears! Perhaps the noise reminded him too much of the bombings his country endured during the war.
