Our brother Albert "Skippy" LeMieux was born in Oconto, Wisconsin in 1908.  His family moved to DePere in 1911 and he attended St. Joseph Grade School and St. Norbert High. Upon graduating from high school, he joined the Order in 1927 and professed solemn vows in 1932.

With the opening of Southeast Catholic in 1934, Skippy was one of the 16 original members of that faculty.  In 1941 he joined the college faculty, teaching at its summer sessions and also at Alverno College .

In 1946, Skippy underwent serious brain surgery, leaving him with a steel plate in his head.  At varied times, from 1950 on, he functioned as chaplain at St. Mary Nursing Home in Oshkosh and assisted at St. Willibrord in Green Bay.  Beginning in 1958, he did parish work in Florida at Sanford, Daytona Beach, Rockledge, Sebring, and Fort Myers Beach. 

Skippy retired to the abbey in 1981 and was found dead in bed on this Wednesday, February 13, 1985. He was 76.
