Our brother Maurice Windt was born in Chicago in 1904.  After just one week at the Salvatorian Seminary in St. Nazianz, Maurice traded for St. Norbert College. He joined the Order in 1926, and in 1928 began teaching biology at the college; he was solemnly professed in 1931.

From 1933 to ’36 in addition to teaching, he was athletic director at the college and during the summers of ’36 to ’38, taught biology and math at Marian College in Fond du Lac.

In 1939, Maurice was appointed pastor at Alverno.  After spending a short time in 1943 in West Vancouver, he was appointed pastor in Somonauk, Illionois from 1943 until 1947. 

Maurice spent 1952 as pastor in Valier, Montana, before returning to Somonauk in 1953, where he remained until 1964, when he became chaplain at Our Lady of Charity Convent.  In 1967 he ministered to St. Hubert in Rosiere.  Maurice died on Thursday, December 18th, 1969 at the age of 65.
