Our brother Theodore Nabuurs was born in Holland in 1928, graduating from the gymnasium (gim-NAZ-ee-um) at Heeswijk.  He was vested at Berne in 1949, professed in 1951, and ordained there in 1955.   

In 1958, he immigrated to the United States where he joined Daylesford and became cantor and a professor at the Daylesford Novitiate.  

He subsequently received his B.A. from St. Norbert College and taught German and religion at Bishop Neumann High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Ted was also a much-loved social worker in South Philadelphia and after his death on Sunday, May 12, 1974, the Family Center attached to St. Gabriel Parish was named in his honor.  

Ted died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 46 and is buried at Daylesford Abbey.
