Our brother Daniel Hurley was born in Hilbert, Wisconsin in 1896.  After his sophomore year at the college, he joined the Order in 1922 and was solemnly professed in 1927.

In 1929, Dan was appointed prefect and a professor at the college and in 1930, became master of novices in Madison.

With the opening of Archmere in 1932, Dan was a founding faculty member and the sub-prior of the fledgling group.  In 1936, he became headmaster of the school and prior of the house.

Taken ill in 1946, Dan was sent to DePere for convalescence but in 1947 had to undergo surgery.  Back in good health once again in 1948, he was appointed pastor of St. Joseph in Alverno, where he also taught the sisters and oversaw the construction of a new grade school.

Dan retired in 1962, and died on Wedneday, September 25, 1963 at the age of 67.
