Our brother Roland Hoffman was born in Wausau , Wisconsin in 1911.  After graduating from St. Norbert High and College, he joined the Order in 1932. 

As a frat, “Goldie”, as he was called, was appointed to the faculty of Southeast Catholic and moderator of “The Rocket.”  He was solemnly professed in 1937 and transferred to Archmere, where in addition to teaching English, was moderator of “The Patio” and “The Green Arch.” 

In 1942, Roland joined the faculty at Central Catholic and in 1944 was back on the faculty of Southeast.  In 1946, Roland became a member of the college faculty and editor of “The Annals of St. Joseph .”  1956 found Goldie as chaplain at the reformatory.  Becoming assistant at Brussels in 1965, just before Milo Smits’s retirement, he remained there until 1970.  In 1971 be was appointed pastor in Chester, Montana, where he died on Monday, March 21st, 1977 at the age of 65.
