Order of Premontre, Premonstratensians, Norbertines, and White Canons

Our brother Louis Freiberg, (FRY-berg) a canon of Daylesford Abbey, was born in Philadelphia in 1930, was vested in 1947, professed in 1949 and ordained in 1954.  He served on the faculty of Bishop Newmann High School and was associate pastor at St. Norbert Parish, Paoli, Pennsylvania until October 1993, when he took up residence at the abbey.   

“Precious” - as his mother and confreres called him, taught history at St. Norbert and Bishop Neumann High Schools and ministered in parishes in Harrisburg and Paoli, Pennsylvania.  He was known for taking his ‘day off’ (which was usually several days a week), at one of the local houses of the Order.  He died on Tuesday, January 25, 1994 at the age of 63 and is buried at Daylesford.
