Our brother Benedict Demerath was born in Little Chute, Wisconsin in1916.  After his freshman year at the college, he joined the Order in 1935 and was solemnly professed in 1940.

Benedict taught at Southeast Catholic from 1938 until 1942, when he was transferred to Archmere, where he remained until 1946, when he returned to Southeast until 1949.  In 1949, he joined the faculty at Central Catholic, where in addition to teaching social studies, he was moderator of the baseball team until 1956.

Bennie moved to Montana in 1956, where he assisted at Cut Bank, and Valier, where he was appointed pastor in 1958.  He also spent a year at Holy Cross in Keuterville, Idaho (1964).  He died Tuesday, August 15, 1967 at the age of 51.
